In this passage, a Centurion sends some Jewish elders to Jesus with a request; to come and save the life of his servant who is dying. Jesus starts on his way to the house of the centurion when he receives word not to come, but to, “just say the word,” knowing that with Jesus’ command, the servant would be healed. Jesus states his utter amazement at such faith. This is a lesson on where to place our trust and the value of God’s spoken word.
